We are proud to announce the launch of new content on the Cox Campus, specifically the UC|CSU Literacy & Dyslexia modules. These learning modules address language and literacy opportunities for all children and were developed by the Literacy & Dyslexia Team, UC|CSU Collaborative for Neuroscience, Diversity, and Learning under the direction of Drs. Sue Sears and Maryanne Wolf. The UC|CSU Collaborative for Neuroscience, Diversity, and Learning brings together experts in research and practice from the University of California and California State University with the goal of improving literacy for all children, particularly those with reading challenges such as dyslexia. This work represents one aspect of the collaborative's larger mission.
The Literacy & Dyslexia Team collaborated with the Rollins/Cox Campus to ensure that these modules would be free and IACET credit-bearing for the Cox Campus community.
The following modules are now available on Cox Campus under Dyslexia Courses (https://lms.coxcampus.org/dyslexia):
- Introduction to Dyslexia and Literacy
- The Reading Brain and Dyslexia
- Screening and Assessment of Literacy Skills and Dyslexia
- Early Childhood and Dyslexia: Language and Literacy Development in Young Diverse Learners
- Dyslexia and Multilingual/English Learners: Understanding Language and Literacy Considerations
Currently, these modules have not been submitted for accreditation with individual state registries. However, if your state accepts CEUs, these courses should also be accepted. We recommend checking with your state agency to determine if courses will count toward professional development, unless otherwise noted.
